MTD Primers
MTD Primers are mini presentations and courses (between four and six hours) that offer introductory experiences on percussion and music therapy. The material within MTD Primers is relatively customizable, so that the needs of participants can be best met. MTD Primers have occurred at regional and national AMTA conferences, as well as at universities and state music therapy associations. They have been presented for music therapy students, as well as for professional clinicians.
While these primers can be customized, we also offer general frameworks for the Primers, as noted below.

This training focuses on one or two particular musical traditions, giving participants a taste of indigenous music and the contexts that make them useful and powerful.
